Punjab Police Arrest Two Landa Gang Members After Gunfight in Jalandhar, Recover Weapons
Chandigarh (India): In the outskirts of Pholriwal village near Jalandhar, Punjab Police arrested two robbers from the infamous Landa gang after a gunfight. The police seized seven guns, six magazines, and six cartridges from the duo.
The suspects were identified as Jaskaran, alias Karan, from Bhikha Nangal in Kartarpur, and Fatehdeep Singh, alias Pardeep Saini, from Mohalla Thanedar near Phagwara’s Mehli Gate, according to Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav.
The arrests are linked to a case registered at Jalandhar’s Sadar police station.
Gunfight and Seizure
After receiving intelligence about Landa gang activity in Jalandhar, police teams launched an extensive operation under Jalandhar Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma. During the search, the robbers opened fire on the police, who responded, resulting in injuries to the suspects and two officers.
DGP Yadav reported that over 50 rounds were exchanged during the encounter.
