Kuwait: During his two-day visit to Kuwait, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with two Kuwaiti citizens who translated the Indian epics Ramayana and Mahabharata into Arabic. On Saturday, the first day of his visit, PM Modi interacted with the authors, Abdullah Al-Baroon and Abdul Latif Al-Nesef, and signed copies of the Arabic editions of the two epics.

Expressing his happiness, PM Modi stated, “I am delighted to see the Arabic translations of the Ramayana and Mahabharata. I congratulate Abdullah Al-Baroon and Abdul Latif Al-Nesef for their efforts in translating and publishing these great works. Their initiative highlights the global appeal of Indian culture.” The Prime Minister shared this message on X (formerly Twitter).

This marks the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Kuwait in 43 years, undertaken at the invitation of Kuwait’s Amir, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. PM Modi’s visit aims to strengthen the multifaceted ties between India and Kuwait. As part of his itinerary, he is also engaging in discussions with Kuwaiti leaders and interacting with the Indian diaspora residing in the country.

A viral photograph of holding the Arabic versions of the Ramayana and Mahabharata, symbols of faith for millions of Hindus, has captured significant attention online.
