Ranji Trophy: Poor Show in Tests, Team India Star Players Fail in Ranji Too!

Team India captain Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Rishabh Pant have struggled in the Ranji Trophy cricket tournament after a disappointing performance in Test cricket.
Mumbai: Team India’s star players, who recently delivered lackluster performances in Test cricket, have faltered once again. Captain Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Rishabh Pant failed to perform in the Ranji Trophy as well.
Following a whitewash against New Zealand and the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series loss to Australia, Team India players faced criticism. Reports suggest that the BCCI made it mandatory for them to play domestic cricket, but their poor performances in the Ranji Trophy continued.
Rohit Sharma, who scored only 31 runs during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series against Australia, represented Mumbai in the ongoing match against Jammu & Kashmir in Mumbai. He managed to score just three runs, facing 19 deliveries before being caught by Paras Dogra off Umar Nazir’s bowling.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, also playing for Mumbai, failed to contribute significantly, getting out for only four runs.
Shreyas Iyer, who has been selected for the upcoming Champions Trophy, also fell cheaply, scoring just 11 runs before being caught off the bowling of pacer Yudhvir Singh.
In Rajkot, Rishabh Pant, playing for Delhi against Saurashtra, struggled to make an impact. He was dismissed for one run off 10 balls by experienced left-arm spinner Dharmendra Singh Jadeja.
India’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was also part of Saurashtra’s playing XI in the match.
Meanwhile, in the match between Punjab and Karnataka at Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium, Shubman Gill managed to score just four runs. He was dismissed in the fourth over of the innings by Karnataka’s Abhilash Shetty.
