Gaza Can Be Rebuilt Without Hamas—The International Community Must Recognize This!

The grotesque scene of three female hostages being paraded through a crowd before being handed over to the Red Cross on January 19, after enduring 470 days of torture in Hamas’ captivity, exposes the barbarity of Hamas. This tragic event underscores an undeniable truth: Hamas bears full responsibility for the war that erupted on October 7 and the subsequent suffering of both Israelis and Palestinians, as well as the destruction of Gaza.
The global community must acknowledge this reality: there can be no trust in Hamas. There can be no peace with Hamas. Hamas is an obstacle to peace and stability, and its continued rule over Gaza only brings destruction to both Palestinians and the region.
India, too, faces serious threats from terrorist organizations operating along its borders, destabilizing peace and targeting innocent lives. Groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and others have left lasting scars on Indian soil through acts of violence, highlighting the universal challenge of combating terrorist networks. These shared experiences emphasize the need for nations to stand united in rejecting all forms of terrorism and ensuring that terrorist groups cannot use human beings as bargaining chips for their strategies.
On October 7, Hamas militants launched an unprecedented attack on Israel—bombing cities and villages, burning homes, committing rape, mutilating bodies, killing over 1,400 civilians, and taking more than 250 hostages, including children, infants, and the elderly. The sheer brutality of these actions sent shockwaves throughout the region, shattering countless families in the ensuing wave of violence.
Yet, the suffering is not limited to Israelis alone. The residents of Gaza, too, bear the burden of Hamas’ destructive rule. While claiming to champion Palestinian liberation, Hamas prioritizes dictatorship and militarization over the well-being of its people. It manipulates humanitarian aid as a tool of oppression and diverts resources toward building tunnels and stockpiling weapons instead of improving civilian infrastructure.
The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is a direct result of Hamas’ misrule, which has plunged the region into desperation. Even before the October 7 attack, Gaza’s basic infrastructure was crumbling, its economy was in decline, healthcare was inadequate, and unemployment was soaring. Hamas’ obsession with armed conflict has trapped the people of Gaza in a permanent state of distress, offering no vision for a future beyond war. A striking example of this is the construction of hundreds of kilometers of terrorist tunnels—used to imprison Israeli hostages and conduct military operations—while denying shelter to ordinary Gazans.
Is this really the best the craven UK Govt can do after 26,000 Palestinians dead & rising in Gaza?
“Israelis should be able to live without fear of Hamas terrorism and Gazans be able to rebuild their lives”: Foreign Office minister Andrew Mitchell.pic.twitter.com/UUOeKBNOtQ— Gerry Hassan 🇺🇦 (@GerryHassan) January 29, 2024
Hamas’ iron grip on Gaza crushes any hope for a better future. For Gazans, this means living under a regime that prioritizes violence over prosperity. For Israelis, it means enduring continuous attacks that shatter lives and erase any hope for peace.
On a broader scale, Hamas represents a destabilizing force, perpetuating cycles of hatred and advancing radical Islamist and Iranian interests. In fact, Hamas’ allegiance to Iran—the so-called “Axis of Evil”—further fuels regional turmoil, as Tehran’s influence promotes extremism
The international community must recognize that Hamas-ruled Gaza offers no path to peace—only ongoing conflict, suffering, and instability for both Palestinians and Israelis. Eliminating Hamas is not just an Israeli interest; it is a regional necessity.
Without Hamas, Gaza can be rebuilt. Without Hamas, both Gazans and Israelis can begin to imagine a future free from perpetual conflict.
The global community must take decisive action and unequivocally support efforts to dismantle Hamas’ power structure. Hamas’ continued rule guarantees only despair for Gazans, constant fear for Israelis, and endless instability for the region. The world cannot afford to remain passive. The time has come to envision—and actively work toward—a future in which Hamas no longer casts its shadow over the Middle East.
