“Faith Declined After 1990. Congress Must Accept This Reality… Congress Did Not Protect Your Interests the Way It Should Have. This Statement May Hurt Me, but Since It Is the Truth, I Will Not Worry About It,” Said Rahul Gandhi.

New Delhi: If the Congress had retained the trust of Dalits, backward classes, and the most deprived sections, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) would never have become so powerful, said former Congress president Rahul Gandhi. Addressing the topic of ‘Dalit Influencers,’ he stated that he would bring an ‘internal revolution’ within his party. Furthermore, he promised to ensure proper representation for deprived sections within the organization. Rahul Gandhi also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal of being anti-Dalit.

Rahul Gandhi asserted that he had no problem admitting that since the 1990s, the Congress had failed to protect the interests of deprived sections. “If we had retained the trust of Dalits, backward classes, and the most deprived sections, the RSS would never have become so strong. During Indira Gandhi’s era, trust was unbroken,” he remarked. He added that Dalits, tribal communities, backward classes, and minorities all knew that Indira Gandhi fought for them.

“Faith started to decline after 1990. Congress must accept this reality… Congress did not protect your interests in the way it should have. This statement may hurt me, but since it is the truth, I will not worry about it,” Rahul Gandhi said.

As the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi emphasized the need for an internal revolution within the Congress Party for the benefit of the Dalit community. “We will integrate you (deprived sections) into the organization,” he assured. He further stated that India’s education system has never been in the hands of Dalits and backward classes.

Rahul Gandhi also stated that as long as the BJP and RSS maintain their grip over the entire system, the issues of Dalits and backward classes will not be resolved within the current structure. He emphasized that Dalits, tribal communities, and backward classes need a “second independence.” He added that this fight should not be limited to political representation but should also extend to institutions and the corporate sector.
