She had kept the information private for the safety of the child, but after learning that tabloids were preparing to release the news, she decided to make it public. “I had not made this public earlier to protect the privacy and safety of our child, but recently it became clear that the tabloid media intends to release the news without considering the harm it might cause,” Ashley St Clair wrote.

After Musk’s brief response, St Clair criticized him for engaging in online speculation rather than responding directly. “Elon, I have been trying to communicate with you for several days and you have not responded. When will you respond to us instead of publicly reacting to slanders from someone who posted photos of my underwear when I was 15?” she wrote in a now-deleted comment.

Later, St Clair’s representative, Brian Glicklich, confirmed that she and Musk were working on an agreement regarding co-parenting. “To end unnecessary speculation, Elon is waiting until he publicly acknowledges his parental role with Ashley before completing his agreement, and Ashley believes that Elon intends to finalize his agreement quickly for the welfare and safety of the child they are sharing,” he said in a statement.
