“There will be no tariff imposed on goods imported from Mexico until April: Donald Trump.”

who had first proposed import tariffs at the beginning of February, has delayed them for a month. This is the second time the tariff imposition has been postponed.
Washington: Amid widespread fears of the consequences of the tariff war, U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a one-month delay in imposing a 25% import tariff on most goods from Mexico. Trump’s trade secretary, Howard Lutnick, had previously suggested that the process of imposing tariffs on most goods from Canada and Mexico could be delayed. President Trump officially confirmed this yesterday. No changes have been announced regarding the new tariffs imposed on Canada.
In early February, Trump had first proposed the import duties and delayed them for a month. This delay marks the second time the imposition of the tariff has been postponed. The goods from Mexico, in line with the trade agreement made during Trump’s first term, are exempted from the tariffs due to the agreement with Canada and Mexico.
After discussions with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, Trump confirmed that goods under the USMCA agreement will not be subject to Mexican tariffs. He mentioned in a post on Truth Social that this mutual understanding is based on respect for each other and that their relationship is very good as they work together for the improvement of the border.
