AB de Villiers IPL Return- might join RCB with al new role in upcoming season
Former South African cricket player AB de Villiers has hinted that he might be involved with the IPL again, but not as a player. He said, “I might be involved in the IPL again. My heart is with RCB, and if the franchise believes there’s a role for me at the right time, it will definitely be RCB.”

Ever since de Villiers “retired” in 2021, he has remained a fan favorite in the IPL. He joined RCB in 2011 after a stint with the Delhi Daredevils and amassed 4,522 runs in 157 matches for RCB, greatly contributing with Kohli during crucial partnerships.
RCB further honored his contributions by inducting him into their Hall of Fame in 2023. He remains a franchise favorite and, even after retirement, fans still chant his name at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
While RCB is still vying for their maiden IPL championship trophy, many now think de Villiers might return as either a mentor or advisor to assist the team in their endeavors. Even though the franchise hasn’t made any official statements so far, his comments alone have ignited a fresh wave of speculation on the socials about the reality of a reunion.
