Elon Musk Shock to India: Stopping $21 Million Aid for DOGE!

This decision by Elon Musk’s leadership has been taken in response to cuts in international funding that directly impact programs in several countries, including India, Bangladesh, and Mozambique.
Under the widespread budget changes in international funds, DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) has decided to cut $723 million from its foreign aid budget. As part of this decision, funding allocated to several countries, including India and Bangladesh, has been halted.
Amit Malviya, a BJP leader, has reacted to DOGE’s decision to stop funding intended for voter awareness campaigns in India. In a post on X, he wrote that the use of millions of dollars for voter turnout in India clearly indicates foreign interference in India’s electoral process. He questioned, “Who benefited from this? Certainly not the ruling party!”
In response to cuts in international aid affecting countries like India, Bangladesh, and Mozambique, Musk’s decision has had a direct impact. DOGE has restricted aid, including $21 million to increase voter participation in India, $29 million to strengthen political presence in Bangladesh, $10 million for male circumcision programs in Mozambique, and $39 million for “financial unions” and “biodiversity conservation” in Nepal.
