Tragic Incident in Georgia: Bodies of 12 Indians Found in a Restaurant!
The police have initiated an investigation under Article 116 of Georgia’s Criminal Code, terming it as negligent homicide.
Georgia: The bodies of 12 Indian nationals were found at a restaurant in the Gudauri mountain resort in Georgia. The country’s Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that all of them died due to carbon monoxide poisoning. Preliminary investigations have not revealed any injuries or signs of violence, as mentioned in the ministry’s statement. Local media, citing police sources, reported that the victims died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

The Indian High Commissioner in Tbilisi confirmed that the deceased were Indian citizens. However, the statement from Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs mentioned that 12 foreign nationals had died. The bodies were discovered in the sleeping quarters located on the second floor of the restaurant, the statement added.
The Indian High Commissioner expressed deep condolences, stating, “We have received information about the death of 12 Indian nationals in Gudauri, Georgia. Our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. The High Commission is in touch with local authorities to gather more information and ensure all possible assistance is provided.
