PM Modi at AI Action Summit: India Has the World’s Largest AI Talent Pool

Paris: Speaking at the AI Action Summit held at the Grand Palais in Paris, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the gathering and highlighted India’s advancements in the AI space. He stated, “India, considering its diversity, is building its own large language models. We have a unique public-private partnership model to pool resources like compute power. This is made available to our innovators and researchers at an affordable price. India is ready to share its experience and expertise to ensure that the future of AI is for the good of all.”
“Some people worry that machines are becoming smarter than humans. But no one other than humans has the key to our collective future and shared goals. It is our sense of responsibility that must guide us,” Prime Minister Modi emphasized.
India and France have been working together for years, using solar power through initiatives like the International Solar Alliance. Modi said that as both nations lead the way in AI partnerships, advancing a smart and responsible future, sustainability and innovation are naturally intertwined. He added that sustainable AI does not just mean using clean energy but also ensuring that AI models are efficient and sustainable in terms of size, data requirements, and resource needs.
“Human brains, for instance, consume less power than larger lightbulbs, yet they have the ability to create poetry and design spacecraft. We must aim for AI models to be effective and sustainable in similar ways,” he explained.
