India is also one of the countries that imposes the highest taxes in the world: Donald Trump

“Why are we giving $21 million to India? They have a lot of money,” said Donald Trump. “India imposes some of the highest taxes in the world, and because of their high tariffs, it’s difficult for our goods to go there.”
Washington: President Donald Trump has raised the question of why the United States is providing $21 million in aid to India when the country has significant financial resources.
Speaking to the media at his residence in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, he questioned, “Why are we giving $21 million to India? They have a lot of money. India is one of the countries with the highest taxes in the world. Because of their high tariffs, it’s difficult for our goods to go there. I have a lot of respect for India and their Prime Minister, but should we be giving $21 million for elections?”
The U.S. president supported the decision of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to cut the $21 million fund allocated for election-related activities in India. He stated that India, with its growing economy and high taxes, doesn’t need such financial support.
