Israeli army issues threat to five towns in southern Lebanon
Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee has ordered residents living in the villages and towns of East Zotar, West Zotar, Arnoun, Yahmar and al-Qasiba in southern Lebanon to evacuate their homes
The Israeli army has warned residents in five towns in southern Lebanon to evacuate amid its ongoing conflict with Hezbollah. This move comes after a surge in military operations, including airstrikes aimed at Hezbollah positions and other groups in the area. The escalation has resulted in considerable casualties, with many civilians and combatants losing their lives on both sides. These evacuation warnings are viewed as part of Israel’s larger strategy to counter perceived threats from Hezbollah close to its northern border.
The Israeli military has issued evacuation warnings for several towns in southern Lebanon as operations continue in the area. These warnings are part of Israel’s strategy to target Hezbollah positions, which the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) assert are situated close to civilian neighborhoods. On November 21, 2024, airstrikes were carried out on towns such as Mansouri and Ansariya, leading to casualties. Furthermore, extensive raids have caused the displacement of hundreds of families throughout the region.
The evacuation orders have faced criticism, with some claiming that the warnings are poorly executed and do not offer civilians clear guidance or enough time to escape. This has resulted in considerable confusion and distress for those impacted.
As the conflict continues, both sides have been accusing each other of violations, with the ongoing bombardment causing casualties in both Lebanon and Israel
