While the flags of other countries participating in the Champions Trophy can be seen at the stadium, India’s flag is missing.

India’s Flag Missing at the Champions Trophy Venue

The Champions Trophy will begin on February 19, and this time Pakistan is hosting the tournament. A video showing India’s flag missing at Karachi’s National Stadium has gone viral on social media, sparking a new controversy.

While the flags of other countries participating in the Champions Trophy are seen at the stadium, India’s flag is conspicuously absent. This scene has caused confusion among some fans on social media. Though the exact reason for India’s flag being missing is unclear, it is speculated that due to security reasons, the Indian team is playing all their Champions Trophy matches in Dubai. Therefore, it is believed that India’s flag might not have been displayed in Pakistan.

This is the first time since 1996 that Pakistan is hosting an ICC event. Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, Team India will face Bangladesh in a match scheduled in Dubai on February 20.

The Champions Trophy matches are scheduled to take place in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Eight teams will compete in the 2025 edition, divided into two groups of four teams each. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals.

The matches involving New Zealand, South Africa, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and England will be held in Karachi. A few days before the tournament begins, the flags of the participating nations were installed at the stadium, but India’s flag was notably absent. These videos have gone viral on social media, and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has faced criticism for this action.
