Aquaman 2 Producer Denies Rumours of On-Set Tension Between Jason Momoa and Amber Heard
Los Angeles- With the anticipatedly blockbuster Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom landing in cinemas, speculation has emerged about reported tension between lead actor Jason Momoa and co-star Amber Heard. But one film producer was eager to dispel rumors of tension between the pair, saying it was “completely unfounded” that he deliberately provoked Heard on set.
After leaked documents hinted that Momoa could have been doing things to provoke Heard like dressing like Johnny Depp, her ex-partner, speculations began that Momoa’s behavior was in response to some kind of negative fan reaction toward Heard, who starred in the film after having struggled with public and media views on the legal battles and controversies surrounding her defamation case with Depp.
The uncredited producer rejected all claims that it said, “Jason Momoa is known for his professionalism and energy. Any concepts that he was doing something to make Amber uncomfortable or that he was ‘dressing like Johnny Depp’ are completely untrue. Jason and Amber worked professionally together, as they have done in the past, and both had their eyes on making good performances for this film.”.
The actor producer moved on to explain that the actors were both cooperative, and the production atmosphere remained professional. “We are disappointed to see these false narratives being spread, especially as the cast and crew put in incredible effort to make Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom a success.”

This denial happens against the swirl of online theories and speculation over Amber Heard’s fate in the DC Universe. Fans started calling for her sacking from the movie after the heavily publicized defamation trial with Depp, and people are left wondering how much screen time she will have in the movie. But the studio and producers were quick to state that Heard is going to stay a part of the film and reprising her role as Mera.
Set for a December release, it will be time to see whether Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, as directed by James Wan, can match the real blockbuster success of the original movie that came out in 2018. Close to its release date, the production team will hopefully hope to switch the focus back from the cast’s off-screen lives to the movie itself.
We aim to give an exciting and engaging movie to the audience. Jason, Amber, and all of them did such a great job making this movie come true,” adds the producer further.
Tensions seem to have been settled over this movie, with fans now looking forward to the underwater adventures awaiting Arthur Curry and Mera in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
