The Mysuru-Darbhanga Bagmati Express collided with a stationary goods train, leading to the derailment of at least 12 coaches. Rescue operations are ongoing, and while several people have been reported injured, the exact number of casualties is still being determined. The accident is reminiscent of a similar tragedy in Odisha earlier this year, raising concerns about the country’s railway infrastructure and signaling systems. Following the train accident in Tamil Nadu, airlines played a critical role in aiding the response efforts. Rescue teams from various agencies, including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Indian Air Force, were swiftly mobilized. The Air Force in particular provided aerial support and assistance, helping with the evacuation of stranded passengers. This collaboration ensured that those injured or in need of urgent care could be reached quickly, and resources could be efficiently allocated for rescue and relief operations

Rescue teams, such as the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), were quick to respond, with local authorities facilitating medical aid for the injured. As of now, 19 people were confirmed injured, and passengers trapped in the derailed coaches were evacuated. The Tamil Nadu government, led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, coordinated rescue efforts by dispatching medical teams and ensuring that hospitals were prepared for the influx of victims

Regarding airline assistance, typically in such cases, airlines may offer to help with emergency travel arrangements for families of victims or injured passengers needing specialized treatment in different cities.
