Trump-Musk's Major Move on USAID Termination

The closure of this organization is being spearheaded by US President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, who is leading DOGE. As part of this, the government has instructed a portion of the global workforce to take leave, effective today.

Washington: Since Donald Trump assumed office as the President of the United States, there has been significant discussion about USAID (United States Agency for International Development).

USAID is an independent agency of the US government responsible for managing civilian foreign aid and development assistance. It was established in 1961 by President John F. Kennedy to consolidate many foreign assistance organizations and programs under one agency.

Now, this agency is facing its demise under the leadership of President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, with DOGE taking the lead. As part of this, the government has instructed a portion of the global workforce to take leave, starting today. Furthermore, it has been reported that at least 1,600 employees in the US are being laid off.

The aim of the US government is to reduce the size of the federal government, and the closure of this 6-decade-old agency is seen as part of that goal. This significant step was taken after federal judges authorized the administration to move forward with the plan to lay off thousands of USAID employees globally. A request by workers to temporarily block the government’s plan was dismissed by US District Judge Carl Nichols.

“21 Million Dollars Gone to My Friend Modi”: Trump Drops a New Bombshell!

There have been accusations that the US has been using USAID under the guise of international assistance to topple governments in various countries and select the leadership it prefers.

Recently, Donald Trump publicly spoke about how USAID had sent more than 20 million dollars to countries like India and Bangladesh. He questioned why they should send taxpayer money to these countries, especially when there is so much money in their possession and the voting rates are increasing.

Now, as USAID counts its final days, it is speculated that foreign lobbying efforts in elections to topple governments in countries like India will be curtailed.
