Restaurant Owner Jonathan Spanos Faces Backlash and Resigns After Racist Video Goes Viral
York, PA – Jonathan Spanos, owner of The Paddock on Market in York, Pennsylvania, has stepped down from the Penn State York Advisory Board following backlash over a video appearing him making racial slurs amid a street seethe occurrence. In the video, Spanos uses offensive language and openly declares himself a racist, sparking outrage online. The NAACP York County Branch condemned his behaviour and called for Spanos’ resignation from public positions, citing the need for leaders who uphold equality and inclusivity.
Following the incident, Penn State York announced an investigation into the matter, stating that such behaviour does not align with the university’s values. Local residents and organisations continue to express concerns, urging community forums to address issues of racism and promote unity.
