President Donald Trump has pledged to launch the largest deportation campaign in U.S. history, primarily targeting illegal immigration from Latin American countries.

Washington: On Friday, America announced the cancellation of legal protection for millions of immigrants, giving them a few weeks to leave the country.

President Donald Trump has pledged to launch the largest deportation campaign in U.S. history, primarily focused on preventing illegal immigration from Latin American countries.

This order applies to approximately 532,000 people from four countries, including Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela, who arrived in the U.S. after October 2022, according to Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen.

Millions of nationals from these four countries will lose their legal protection to remain in the U.S. by April 24 or within 30 days of the notice being published in the Federal Register.

This new order will affect “many” of the half-million immigrants already in the U.S. under the humanitarian parole program, according to California immigration attorney Nicolette Glazer.

It has been reported that the Trump administration is taking steps to end the “widespread abuse” of humanitarian parole, a legal tool long used by presidents to allow people from war-torn or politically unstable countries to enter and temporarily reside in the U.S.

Before this new order, those who entered under humanitarian parole could stay in the U.S. until their parole period expired. However, the Trump administration has now stopped processing their applications for asylum visas and other requests, preventing them from staying longer. This decision has already been challenged in federal courts.
